Dirty Deluxe was founded in 2007 by dj Ferry Nice well known by several club events throughout the country. Performing on the night will be Jordan Rivera. Jordan Rivera, one of the top notches of Latin dance music of the modern day. Jordan is well known all over the world working with big names like Davidson Ospina (USA). The goal of Dirty Deluxe is to be a no bullshit record company, where the love for the music stands first!

There will be House Music!

This weekend, Chemistry will celebrate 20 years of ‘House’ music! Held at the wonderful Westerunie the location is set to celebrate this Jubilee! The music will be spun out by a host of talent, bringing back the sounds of the pioneering days and working their way through the evolution of House sounds! The Promised Land within the walls of the club, DJ from the revolution comes together as one! This will be one party! We will certainly be there! DJ Roog, Robert Owens &  Marcello!

A Day at the Park is a lively coming together of house, tech-house and melodious techno. The kick-off hours will feature first the famous high rolling acts; Housequake, DJ Roog and Erick E. In the afternoon stands Deep Dish front man Dubfire who will rock you until the sun drops behind the trees and the environment prepares for the arrival of the eminent Sven Vath! The day will provide a fairy-like ambiance, and if that’s not enough for the most devoted head to the afterparty at 23:00 in The Sand Amsterdam!

Amsterdamaged : Take your mind off things….and head down to the Heeren Van Aemstel this Sunday! On offer to ease out the weekend with foot-tapping fun is the Blue Nose Sunday phenomenon. A monthly hosted live-music event, with free beer prizes and an awesome and friendly crowd! Once you have been once you will be telling all your friends about it. Performing on the night will be The Woodwards, Yori & A MysterE. When: 19:00-21:00 Where: Heeren Van Aemstel Cost: FREE!!

 

You need to eat…Fathers can be mothers too! Why not bring a touch of irony to this Fathers Day and visit the wonderfully homley Moeders restaurant on Rozengraacht. Walls decorated with drawings of ‘Mums’ accompanied by the incredibly friendly staff create an atmosphere abuzz with chatter and clinking cutlery, laughter and quality comfort food. The sun better be shining for the roots to grow… The free open air part of the festival traditionally takes place on the first Sunday of the festival week. The Oosterpark hosts an international programme on seven different stages. With performances of such young and talented bands as: Canteca de Macao (Spain, Chile, Venezuela), Watcha Clan (Marseille, France), Freshlyground (south Africa, most popular popband from Cape Town) and Terrakota (Portugal).

tart and lemonade from 3pm, followed by a gigantic party with bands, DJ’s and VJ acts and accompanied by yellow dressed circus freaks, under the limelight of Amsterdam top talent!

Zipper are experts in the alternative 2nd hand

clothing world. The two level store offers a wonderful array of daring and unique garments, from illuminous trouser braces to urban designed skater trousers. Jewellery, glasses and mock snake skin shoes are suprises you will encounter, and with the cost at a minimal you may well find the perfect item that will make you will on the next night out in order to show off your inner flambouancy!

A splash of paint here and there. Obviously it is more than that and this guy proves it! Jon Paul Hoppe turned his back on the corporate world and focused fully on his true love of painting.  Amsterdamaged : Take your mind off things….and visit the World Press Photo in the Oude Kerk. The prestigous collection of award winning press photography opens in Amsterdam before touring many cities of the world. An inspiring and provacative collection of photography really opens your mind to the art of photography and that of being in the right place at the right time. This exhibition runs up until June 22, so don’t miss it. Entry 7E Sun 1pm-5:30pm

 

 

 

 

You need to eat…..because your hangover is subsiding and you need some comfort in eating. In order to replenish your vitals head down to Los Pilones, a fine Mexcian restaurant (Kerkstraat 63 & Anjeliersdwarsstraat 6). This colourful place is run by  3 Mexican brothers, one of which is the chef, so expect traditional and beautiful dishes. They also have one of the largest Tequila collections I have seen in Europe. This place is quality!! Dishes Euros 11-19

 

The cinema, try not to fall asleep to…’Be Kind Rewind’ at The Movies (Haarlemmerdijk 157-165). A wonderful cinema steeped in tradition, small cozy zaals, good food and drink. Old reel format screenings. Not too mention the extraordinary décor! A nice evening and possibly a stupid ass film to boot. The movie stars Jack Black. Enough said.

The Free Your Mind festival celebrates its fifth anniversary, and in those five years the events has deserved its reputation with classic tracks and feel good days. The festival is known not only for its good music, but especially the sociable and good environment, which twists it. Free Your Mind is danced, is enjoyed and is celebrated. You can expect everything in the field of techno: minimal, progressive, electro and all other trends in this genre. There will be seven different areas filled by well-known organizers such as Rockit and Planet Rose.
